Casey strongly believes in the joy, learning, and community summer camp creates and is blessed to devote her life to getting campers outside. Her diverse background, love of youth development, and experience training successful staff make her a great fit for Quinebarge and a compliment to her co-director Nick “Herc” Hercules. 

Professional Journey in Camping:

Casey loves all things summer camp and has 15 years of residential summer camp leadership experience. Before coming to Quinebarge, she successfully ran a not-for-profit camp in the Adirondacks for 8 years, and also has previous camp and outdoor education experience in New Hampshire, Connecticut, and California. She loves working with all ages but has a specific affinity for middle schoolers. Before becoming a Summer Camp Director she was a Summer Camp Ropes Course Director, Hiking & Backpacking Director, as well as a lifeguard. She also worked as a Montissori School teacher and Land Use Planner. At Quinebarge her goal is to make sure all campers and staff have a fun, safe, and meaningful summer experience. 

Educational Background

Casey has a Masters of Science from Lesley University in Ecological Teaching and Learning. Her undergraduate degree is in Environmental Studies with a minor in Fine Art from St. Lawrence University.  As a lifelong learner, she is a Wilderness First Responder, an American Red Cross certified lifeguard instructor, as well as a trained high & low ropes course facilitator. 

Personal Insights

Casey has a passion for the outdoors and youth development. Her role as Summer Camp director blends her personal and professional passions into work that is a joy. During her free time you can catch her playing outdoors with her sons Malcolm and Desmond, hiking with her dog Tucker, or throwing pottery in her studio. She is also American Red Cross Disaster Response Trained and volunteered in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina. She volunteers on several nonprofit boards that focus on connecting people to nature.
